Dear Members,
The Tacoma Pierce County Black Collective (Collective) has long been a beacon of representation and advocacy for the Black community in the region. As the 2023 elections approach, the Collective has once again taken the initiative to vet and endorse candidates who align with our values and vision for the community. Here are some details about the endorsement process and our recommendations.
The Endorsement Process
The Collective’s endorsement process is meticulous and transparent. It begins with an invitation to all candidates, which is sent out via email. Those interested in seeking the Collective’s endorsement are required to complete a questionnaire, which serves as a precursor to an interview. This questionnaire must be submitted by a specific date. Endorsments are not monetary contributions.
Following the submission of questionnaires, candidate interviews are scheduled between a two or three week window. The schedule is flexible and can change due to holidays, unforeseen schedule changes, and logistical impacts.
Key Understandings
The Collective’s endorsement process is a testament to their dedication to ensuring that the candidates they support are in alignment with the needs and aspirations of the Black community in Tacoma Pierce County. Their thorough vetting process and clear recommendations provide valuable guidance to voters as they make their choices in the upcoming elections.
Best Regards,
Tacoma Pierce County Black Collective
